This Election

The Blue group:

“Can you feel the joy rising” – Oprah to Kamala.

A collage of CNN superlatives about Kamala: “optimism, energy, inspiration, hope and change, youthful, team, hope, joy.”

Kamala’s positions – policies:

Number 1 – “Vote for K!” – that’s pretty much it!

Vote for joy, hope, youth, a future free of the past – “What can be, unburdened by what has been.”   Just vote!  Please Vote!  Vote for change!  Vote for a great future!  Vote!

Number 2 is abortion. “Abortion must be codified.”  Abortion is a fundamental right.  A woman should have total say over what she does with her body.

Number 3 is… there is no #3.

When Kamala is asked positions, she talks about being reared in a middle-class family, about her vision of a great future and NOT going back to the past, and other non-policy chatter.

Nancy P:  “We need to pass ObamaCare so we can ‘find out what is in it.” This seems to be the mindset of those bent on electing Kamala – just elect her and then find out what she believes (or study her past).

[Anybody heard anything out of Tim Walz lately?  Seems they have put him in a dark room.]

The Red group:

Trump’s theme is “Make America Great Again” – MAGA!

Trump gave a major speech on September 24 in Savannah about all the things he will do if elected President. He talked of tax cuts, deportations, threats to those doing business outside the USA, support of allies, closing the border and other.

Much of his vision is to reconstruct the glory days under Reagan when Granada was freed, the Wall came down, the economy was booming and there was a lot of peace and good will.

I listened to a portion of his speech and found myself thinking, “It won’t work.”   He wants American manufacturing with American workers.  Who?  This younger generation doesn’t know how to work nor want to work.  The old work ethic is gone!  Even with all the illegals, there are many jobs unfilled.  With a reproduction rate at about 1.65 live births per female (it takes at least 2.1 live births to maintain a population), we are NOT producing a work force for the years to come.  And if we deport masses, where do the workers come from?

The culture/mindset of America is not that of the 80’s under Reagan.  Values such as marriage, children, leaving an inheritance, patriotism, forgiving, patience, etc. are seriously eroded or even gone. Trump wants to build something Great (again) but the building blocks are frail or missing.  I hate to say it, but “It won’t work.”  However, I will vote – the lesser of two “evils” or the more logical of two dreams.  Ask God for wisdom – James 1:5.

My platform:  My fix for our dear nation is threefold:

  1. Reinstate God into the public square – a return to acknowledgement of a power outside of us. It is a renewal of “In God we trust” and “One nation under God.”
  2. Restore the family as the cornerstone of the country. This means the marriage of one man to one woman for a lifetime, children cherished, children reared in character and submission – moms staying home (end of the nanny state, childcare centers and the takeover of public schools of parenting duties) and allowing older children to work when teens.
  3. The church given a voice in the culture – God’s truth heard in public.

[Plank #1 is Commandments 1-4, Plank #2 is Commandment #5, and Plank #3 is promoting Commandments 6-10.]
