Genesis 3:1-5, “Has God said? You will not! You will be as God – knowing good and evil”
The challenge: His will or mine?
God’s will: NO!
My will: disregard God – His word and justice, embrace power and wisdom!
They exercised a free will and cast all mankind into a bondage of the will – no longer free!
Genesis 3:6-7, She took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. Then the eyes of both of them were opened.
Genesis 3:22-24, They were separated from a sweet fellowship with God – UGH! And yet today!
GOD’s Will!
Jeremiah 32:26, Then the word of the Lord came to Jeremiah, saying, “Behold, I am the Lord, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”
28, Therefore thus says the Lord: ‘Behold, I will give this city into the hand of the Chaldeans (into harsh bondage)… 30, because the children of Israel and the children of Judah have done only evil before Me from their youth. And they have turned to Me the back, and not the face; though I taught them… 37, Behold, I will gather them out of all countries where I have driven them in My anger, in My fury, and in great wrath; I will bring them back!
38-42, They shall be My people, and I will be their God; then I will give them one heart and one way, that they may fear Me forever, for the good of them and their children after them. And I will make an everlasting covenant with them, that I will not turn away from doing them good; but I will put My fear in their hearts so that they will not depart from me. Yes, I will rejoice over them to do them good
WOW! What love! What grace! What a God!!
Man’s Doings:
Genesis 3:15, her Offspring to be bruised and to bash the head – Go, God! Go, Jesus!
Genesis 3:20, Adam believed God and it was accounted for righteousness. (Genesis 15:6)
God’s response:
Genesis 3:21, And God clothed them. Isaiah 61:10, For He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness.
Luke 15:10, I say to you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.
Matthew 25:23, Enter into the joy of your Lord!
Zephaniah 3:17, The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”
Our response:
Psalm 89:15-17, Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They walk, O Lord, in the light of Your countenance. In Your name they rejoice all day long, and in Your righteousness they are exalted. For You are the glory of their strength, and in Your favor our horn is exalted.
Psalm 126:1-3, When the Lord brought back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream. Then our mouth was filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then they said among the nations, “The Lord has done great things for them.” The Lord has done great things for us, and we are glad.
Psalm 149:2-4, Let Israel rejoice in their Maker; Let the children of Zion be joyful in their King. Let them praise His name with the dance; Let them sing praises to Him with the timbrel and harp. For the Lord takes pleasure in His people.
Come, let us celebrate our Lord, King and Savior for He has done great things!!!
Be humbled and amazed. Be contrite and blessed. Be sober and glad.
