New Life

New life in Jesus is found in faith alone!

Titus 3:5-6, Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior,

What is this FAITH that saves?

F – Facts: God is present, holy/sinless and right always.

Man is a sinner and due God’s judgment for sins and rebellion.

All men will be raised to stand before God in judgement.

Jesus was God, man and sinless.

Jesus died and rose from death and is now ruling in Heaven.

Jesus invites people to repent, submit and follow Him.

A – Agreement – you agree with God’s declarations – you agree with the Facts.

I – Internalized/Personalized – this applies to you!  The facts mean you are in peril!  You need to fear God’s justice!

T – Trusted – as Peter got out of the boat in the storm and walked to Jesus on the water, you must get out of the boat you have believed makes you good and saves you (your past church experience, your baptism, your good deeds, the prayer you made at camp or with grandma) and you move to Jesus as your Savior and now your Lord/Master!

H – Heralded – if saved, you say so!  You tell God so – “Thank you, Lord, for saving my soul!  Thank you, Lord, for making me whole, Thank you, Lord, for giving to me Thy great salvation so rich and free!”

And you herald it to others – Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Psalm 107:2

and, I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people (Ps 35:18).

If saved – you are born again!

John 3:3, “I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.”

As a newborn human tells you they are saved, so will a newborn in Jesus tell you they are now saved.  Newborns…

  1. sleep a lot – there is a peace that comes over the one saved. Romans 5:1
  2. eat a lot – they hunger for milk often each day. Matthew 5:6, I Peter 2:2

Over time the food becomes purated veggies then small pieces of meat then steak.

  1. love Mom – the church becomes precious. God’s people are loved and important. I John 1:7
  2. fuss over wet and dirty diapers – they fuss over sin. Sin bothers them. I John 1:8-9
  3. coo – they move and make noises – simple thoughts about Jesus, truth and hope; prayers uttered are often simple, and many questions seeming like noise – all marks of one alive. Ps. 107:2

If saved, be regular and active in a good church that will mother you God’s way:
I Thessalonians 2:4-9, But as we have been approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel, even so we speak, not as pleasing men, but God who tests our hearts. 5 For neither at any time did we use flattering words, as you know, nor a cloak for covetousness—God is witness. 6 Nor did we seek glory from men, either from you or from others, when we might have made demands as apostles of Christ. 7 But we were gentle among you, just as a nursing mother cherishes her own children. 8 So, affectionately longing for you, we were well pleased to impart to you not only the gospel of God, but also our own lives, because you had become dear to us. 9 For you remember, brethren, our labor and toil; for laboring night and day, that we might not be a burden to any of you, we preached to you the gospel of God.
