Equipped for All

There is no question that God’s people can find themselves in difficult, dangerous and even life threatening situations.

Psalm 57:4, My soul is among lions; I lie among the sons of men who are set on fire, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.

Think of Daniel in the lion’s den.  OUCH!   Impossible!  And were those lions hungry!

Daniel 6:24, …and they cast them into the den of lions—them, their children, and their wives; and the lions overpowered them, and broke all their bones in pieces before they ever came to the bottom of the den.

Dangerous – impossible – beyond human ability!

BUT, there is nothing in a believer’s life that is impossible with God!

Matthew 19:26, Jesus looked at them and said to them, “With men this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”

I Corinthians 10:13, …God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.

Too often I hear of believers looking to, listening to and running to nonbelievers – the world – for help and wisdom when God has promised both the power and patience for any and all situations of life – for ALL!!!  Consider:

Psalm 57:2-3, I will cry out to God Most High, to God who performs all things for me. He shall send from heaven and save me; He reproaches the one who would swallow me up. Selah. God shall send forth His mercy and His truth.

II Corinthians 12:9, And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you,”

Philippians 4:13, I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

Philippians 4:19, And my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

Colossians 1:10-11, that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God; strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

Colossians 2:2-3,…attaining to all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the knowledge of the mystery of God, both of the Father and of Christ, in whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.

And maybe the capstone verse:  II Peter 1:2-3, Grace and peace be multiplied to you in the knowledge of God and of Jesus our Lord, as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness.

So what area, situation, relationship, trouble or issue is outside of God’s provision?

For what situation, trouble or issue is the world needed or of help?

When does the believer need the “wisdom” of the world?

Is Christ sufficient or not?  Faith loudly says, “He is sufficient!”

And this warning about using the world or listening to the world:
Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ. For in Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead bodily; and you are complete in Him, who is the head of all principality and power (Colossians 2:8-10).

Bottom line:  Christ’s wisdom and power are all that is needed for any and all of life – ALL!!
