I Wanna Cry

The murder of three children and three adults in Nashville this past week is yet another horrible chapter in America’s social history.  The transgender shooter was being counseled by a pastor of the church and in the shooter’s spree, he killed the pastor’s daughter.  How terrible!

Yet the common narrative is that the shooter was a victim of a cruel religious and patriarchal society.  The action of the man was in part due to recent legislation by the Tennessee governing body to ban drag queen shows.  Again, proof that America is cruel.

It is so ugly that children take the wrath of others and that one can be convinced they are not whole or well as they are born and need to delve into another realm.  It is a sad, sad world that people created in the image of God and who can be eternally saved to live in God’s love, joy and peace with a simple acceptance of Jesus as Savior and Shepherd, don’t find that life.

Then there was the picture this morning on the front page of the local paper showing maybe a couple hundred kids outside an Omaha high school out of class in protest to a couple of laws being debated in the Nebraska Unicameral.  One bill is to deny medical help for those who think they’re trapped in the wrong body before they turn 19 and the other about bathroom usage by those trans.  These teens are apparently students of morality, philosophy, religion, politics and culture and thus sufficiently enlightened to make such a bold statement.  OR – is there a “community organizer” in the midst “brainwashing” and inflaming “innocent” and simple minds into action for a personal cause?  It is so ugly to use children as pawns for one’s agenda.

And former President Trump was indicted this week apparently for paperwork and hush money of a few years ago – from before being President.  And this by a DA who publicly declared that he would not prosecute crimes such as resisting arrest, prostitution and trespassing.  He is noted as soft on crime – or is he?

A woman last week in Lincoln purposely ran over two men killing them and attempted to do the same to a third.  She is in custody being charged with murder.  I would expect that there will be an outcry against cars as a car was used to kill “multiple innocent” people.  Surely there will be a press to ban cars similar to the outcry against AR guns.

Many years ago, a crazy used fertilizer to make a bomb with which to attack a federal building in Oklahoma City largely in retaliation for a violent act by the government against a group in TX a couple of years earlier.  There should have been, and maybe yet will be, protests and even legislation banning fertilizer.  One would think.  Or???

And tornados and death in MS, AR, TN and IA.  Ugh!

And history – on a Saturday, some 2000 years ago, Jesus had few hours of reprieve with friends Lazarus, Mary and Martha as it was a Sabbath rest.  That night was a large meal where Mary anointed the feet of Him “Who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, “Your God reigns!” (Isaiah 52:7).

The next morning, He presented Himself to His people, to the spiritual leaders who had all the documentation from God to verify His claim, and to the world as the Messiah Lamb of God.  And they not only rejected Him, but murdered Him!

What He endured and did that I might be justified and made adoptable is beyond my grasp.

I wanna cry in joy and grief.

There is hope and help for this sick world, for sick souls, and for me!  It is JESUS!
