Psalm 2

I woke this morning with Psalm 2 on my mind and know this, I haven’t been in Psalm 2 for weeks but at 4:33, there it was!

Why do the nations rage, and the people plot a vain thing?
The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together,
Against the Lord and against His Anointed, saying,
“Let us break Their bonds in pieces and cast away Their cords from us.”   Psalm 2:1-3

And then came to mind Alphabet, Amazon, TikTok, POTUS and other behemoths who are aggressively casting aside logic, truth, heritage and God.

God is fully aware of their mission of “Away with Him!”

And God, in Psalm 2, then declares:

He who sits in the heavens shall laugh; the Lord shall hold them in derision.
Then He shall speak to them in His wrath, and distress them in His deep displeasure:
“Yet I have set My King on My holy hill of Zion.”    Psalm 2:4-6

The Lord will confuse them and in great displeasure declare that His will be done!  That is, Jesus is the King of kings, the Ruler of rulers, the CEO of ceo’s and Master ALONE!

Declares God:

You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall dash them to pieces like a potter’s vessel.   Psalm 2:9

All these power groups and peoples who are taking the head dive off the cliff will not find water below but rocks.  They who think that God and His ways are to be rejected and replaced are doing so for their own destruction.

God is fully aware, fully engaged and sovereign ALONE!

Then God declares:

Now therefore, be wise, O kings; be instructed, you judges of the earth.
Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
Kiss the Son, lest He be angry, and you perish in the way, when His wrath is kindled but a little.
Blessed are all those who put their trust in Him.   Psalm 2:10-12

Two notes:

1. All you power brokers driving this dive: repent, confess, submit and embrace Jesus now – today! God is merciful and longsuffering “not willing that any should perish.”
2. Those who trust Him will find themselves enmeshed in His goodness – His blessings.

Go, God!
