Psalm 139
1 O Lord You have searched me and known me.
You know my sitting down and my rising up.
You understand my thought afar off….
1. 13, You formed my inward parts – knit me together – caused and developed all systems
2. 13, You covered me in my mother’s womb – caused my being within my mother
3. 14, I will praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Marvelous are Your works.
My soul knows very well – the product of a Designer and an amazing thing I am!
5. 15, My frame was not hidden from You when I was made in secret.
When skillfully wrought in the lowest parts of the earth, Your eyes saw my substance, being yet unformed.
6. 16, In Your book the days fashioned for me were all written when as yet there were none of them
How precious also are your thoughts to me, O God! How great is the sum of them! If I should count them, they would be more in number than the sand; when I awake, I am still with You.
19-22, the wicked are my enemies
7. 23, Search me, O God, and know my heart – my bents, passions, desires, loves
8. Try me, and know my anxieties – note my fears, troubles, shames
9. 24, See if there is any wicked way in me – know my angers, guilts, lies and greed
10. Lead me in the way everlasting – I desire to live in a good way – in a Godly way
