“World Economic Forum and Klaus Schwab all get to be god except Jesus”, Pastor Jack Hibbs.
Jesus! A name so very common, so very divisive, so powerful, so differently defined.
Many people believe in Jesus as the founder of a great world religion.
Many people believe in Jesus as their Savior giving them rights and freedoms to live their life as they chose believing at death they will be received into His heaven.
Many think of Jesus as a very good, special or even unique man even worthy of honor.
Many know enough (or are just driven by habit) to use Him as a swear word.
A number of religions – Islam, Mormonism, Catholicism, Jehovah Witnesses, Bahai, British Israelism, etc. – have Jesus as a key part of their belief system.
So, Jesus is accepted by many – a great many – that is, until He is defined per the Bible.
Just what does the Bible say about Him? We’ll let one passage give us a picture:
Colossians 1:15-20, He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist. 18 And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things He may have the preeminence. 19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all the fullness should dwell, 20 and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross.
Truths about Jesus as declared by the Bible:
- Jesus is God! – John 1:1-2, 10:30, also Col. 1:19
- Jesus is at the point of Creation – idea, design and redemption – Rev. 13:8, Eph. 1:4
- Jesus created all – ALL! He created things seen and that not seen: heaven (the throne room), Hell, angels, Satan, subatomic – ALL – John 1:2-3
- All is created for Jesus – that would be you and me! Eph. 2:10
- Jesus controls all things – life, death, cancers, Satan – Isaiah 50:2
- Jesus planned, created, and runs the church for His purpose and for His glory – Isaiah 43:7
- Jesus is preeminent – alone – none compete, none challenge – Isaiah 44:6
- Jesus is God sent (Merry Christmas) to live sinlessly and to die for sins – Gal. 4:4-5, Luke 1:31
- Jesus is about reconciling enemies, the broken, and the willful to God – II Cor 5:19
- Jesus died on a cross so to bring about a peace – Romans 5:1-2, Therefore, having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Such is Jesus per God!
These teachings of Jesus make Him Lord, King, Master, Sovereign, Judge and Ruler.
These teachings make Him engaged in all of life, allowing and causing life issues and causing His will to be exactly accomplished by creatures great and small.
This Jesus is very different from the one most people think Him to be.
For all men, God says: Acts 4:12, Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.
And Jesus says: John 14:6, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
Acts 20:26, …that they should repent, turn to God, and do works befitting repentance.
Jesus is GOD! Is Jesus your God? On His terms?
