Freedom must be attached to Law:

A string must be attached at each end and tat over a bridge for it to sing – to make music.

The Feast of Firstfruits and (50 days later) the Feast of Weeks are two bindings.

…from Egypt to Sinai – from Freedom to Torah/the law

Thus, Freedom is attached to Law.  The USA used to be  Freedom and the Rule of Law – today, it is just freedom!  “You deserve.”  You are a winner!  Enable!  Participation trophies and Superior ribbons.  Most are on the Honor Roll and many make the National Honor Society. All are winners!

The Port Huron Statement(June 15, 1962), creating the Radical Left, declared the will to be free of government, corporations, and the military complex and for a personal autonomy.  Sixty years to success – “You can be you!”  You can be a dog, a different gender, choose your sexual identity or whatever – just “you be you.”

God’s Will:

God’s Decretive Will – God decreed it with no options to change it or disobey it
…like gravity or the hours in a day (the rotation of the earth)

God’s Preceptive Will – God’s Will declared which can disobey but not without consequences
…like the Ten Commandments or the invite to be saved

God’s Permissive Will – God’s desire that men love Him and worship Him
…man’s choice of car to drive (drove the Pinto), shoes to wear, or food to eat

Man does not have a free will.  Luther had it right – his book, the “Bondage of the Will”

The Truth:

Man is born in a box.  Man has a little freedom in his box, but he is still in a box.

The Box is marked by a top: the curse – dead in spirit, no fear of God | a bottom: the hood – neighbors, government, economy, friends | side #1: by DNA – IQ, size, color, etc. | side #2: by upbringing – home of youth, father present? mean? lazy? | side #3: by adults – teachers, coaches, bosses | side #4: by crises – death of Mom? molested?  And even in the Box there are bindings on the will such as pride, fear (of rejection and death), and greed. Thus, a person’s will is impacted, influenced, twisted, and even bound.  Therefore, any decision is not truly freely made.

Adam was created and put in a garden – both with no choice (Decretive Will); and there he was told to manage it and not eat of one tree (Preceptive Will).  He could eat of any other trees (Permissive Will).
