In November of 2019 I traveled along with some teens and sponsors to a “reThink Conference” [now called “Reality”] in Minneapolis which is a ministry of Greg Koukl’s Stand to Reason ministry. It was rich then and yet serves me. Here are some points made at that conference:
Spiritual war is not power encounters but truth encounters.
Revelation 12:9, Satan who deceives the whole world
Our chief weapon is truth – accurate ideas about God and His world.
Colossians 2:8, Beware lest anyone cheat you through philosophy and empty deceit, according to the tradition of men, according to the basic principles of the world, and not according to Christ.
II Corinthians 10:3-4, We do not war according to the flesh. For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds,
Numbers 23:19, God is not a man, that He should lie, nor a son of man, that He should repent.
Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good?
Jeremiah 19:3-4, Thus says the Lord of hosts, the God of Israel: “Behold, I will bring such a catastrophe on this place, that whoever hears of it, his ears will tingle. Because they have forsaken Me and made this an alien place, because they have burned incense in it to other gods whom neither they, their fathers, nor the kings of Judah have known, and have filled this place with the blood of the innocents.”
Deuteronomy 12:29-31, “When the Lord your God cuts off from before you the nations which you go to dispossess, and you displace them and dwell in their land, take heed to yourself that you are not ensnared to follow them, after they are destroyed from before you, and that you do not inquire after their gods, saying, ‘How did these nations serve their gods? I also will do likewise.’ You shall not worship the Lord your God in that way; for every abomination to the Lord which He hates they have done to their gods; for they burn even their sons and daughters in the fire to their gods.
No space, time, or matter? The Big Bang needs these in order for it to happen. And where did these come from? Evolution, if honest and true, must explain the source of those 3 if it is to be logically considered. These 3 must come from something outside of these 3 – outside of space, time, and matter. What could it possibly be? Humm?
Evil is actually an argument for God. There is no means to declare something evil without something to compare against. Evil does not exist on its own. If evil exists, then God exists.
An atheist has to steal the idea and truths of God in order to make their case.
That there is morality, religion, order, government, languages and wars point to God’s existence. Such does not come out of the primordial soup.
Hell is your choice – God says, “your will be done” unless you say to Him, “Your will be done!” Today God sends you cards, candy, and flowers – in Hell, God will leave you alone.
God shouts in our pain!
God is love and God is all-powerful – so, why evil? Miss one – God is all-wise thus He can use what we think evil for good.
Genesis 50:20, the brothers did evil which God turned to bring good to them
II Corinthians 4:17-18, For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory, while we do not look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen.
Jesus answered 183 questions and asked 307 questions.
People don’t die – they just change locations.
They say, “There is no truth!” Your reply, “Is that true?”
