For God’s blessings…
Closing out the 9/11 remembrance and prayer time this morning, I laid a challenge out to all who desire God’s grace and mercy be ours for days to come and for our children:
Be saved and Be obedient!
BE SAVED? be saved today! be right with God today!
Which means: You are a sinner and will not be allowed into God’s holy presence without a holy garment that only He provides. This garment is not received by church attendance, giving, Bible studies or heritage (Phil 3:5-6). No, it is only received from God -from God- through confession of rebellion, a sincere repentance (a deep grief and desire to change), asking God for forgiveness and a commitment to live for Him. It is only received, the acceptable garment (a robe of righteousness, Is 61:10) in a radical change in life that is possible by God’s grace and mercy!
A salvation verse: I Peter 1:21, Who (one saved) through Him (Jesus) believe in God, who raised Him from the dead and gave Him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.
“Your faith and hope are in God” by believing in the death and resurrection of Jesus and His present glory!
If His – BE OBEDIENT! Seven points:
- Love Him daily!
Psalm 31:23, Oh, love the Lord, all you His saints! For the Lord preserves the faithful, and fully repays the proud person.
- Be soft and tender before Him – hate sin and fix sin
Psalm 34:18, The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, And saves such as have a contrite spirit.
- Call to Him – talk to Him – pray, thank, and commune with Him
Psalm 145:18, The Lord is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.
- Love His book – the Bible – so to know Him and obey Him
I John 2:3, Now by this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments. 5 But whoever keeps His word, truly the love of God is perfected in him.
- Worship and Praise Him
Psalm 29:2, Give unto the Lord the glory due to His name; Worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness.
- Flee the world and sin
II Corinthians 6:17, Come out from among them and be separate, says the Lord. Do not touch what is unclean, and I will receive you.
- Trust Him – lean on Him
Psalm 27:14, Wait on the Lord; Be of good courage, and He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the Lord!
