You Know

While most of us can claim ignorance on a host of issues – or said otherwise, most of us should claim ignorance on a host of issues – not all do.  We all know one or three who are experts on a myriad of issues if not all issues – just ask them!  We all know two or four who are indeed very, very amazing for they truly are well informed on a host of topics.

But for most all, if not all, there are things that are truly known.  To all peoples it can be said, “You know” such and such is true or coming.   Here are a few:

1 You know – there is a distant future – an eternity!

Ecc 3:11, He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts,

2 You know – this world was created – design and order do not come by explosion or over vast amounts of time.  The Periodic Chart, the beauty of a parrot, the four weather seasons, the water cycle, predictable tides, and the salmon spawning cycle all scream NO accident and NOT random!

Exo 20:11, For in six days the Lord made the heavens and the earth, the sea, and all that is in them.

3 You know – there is a God – a higher power, a force, a being, a god or gods – a GOD!  You know that beauty, love, language, and creativity are not from a cosmic accident or chance happening.

Rom 1:19, Because what may be known of God is manifest in them, for God has shown it to them.

4 You know – that you are a sinner.  You know that you lie, cheat (come on, you break the speed limit), covet (jealous of those who have more) and have unrighteous anger.

Rom 1:29-30, Being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,

5 You know – that happiness and success are fleeting.

6 You know – that injustice looms.  You are going to be belittled and rejected unjustly.

7 You know – that all men are sinners.

8 You know – there is more to this life than dying.  So you make millions yet you will have indigestion, fear, the flu, marriage troubles, knee pain, cancer or diabetes, workplace pain, only to then die – millions or not!  All gained is left behind.

Ecc 2:11, Then I looked on all the works that my hands had done and on the labor in which I had toiled; And indeed all was vanity and grasping for the wind.

9 You know – you are going to die. There only a few who ever see their 100th birthday – all people die

Heb 9:27, And as it is appointed for men to die once, but after this the judgment,

10 You know – there is a judgment coming – there just has to be justice!  And justice for them means justice for you!  But, you are good!  You are certainly better than most.  “Justice for me can’t be but a stern word or a soft slap on the wrist. I’m not that bad.”  But, God is perfect and all-knowing so that any twist of the truth or denying the truth is a sin.  God is holy so pride has no foothold in His realm and all are full of pride.  Justice and judgment loom from a holy God – you know it!

Rom 3:12, There is none who does good, no, not one.

Rom 2:16, In the day when God will judge the secrets of men by Jesus Christ

Psa 90:8, You have set our iniquities before You, Our secret sins in the light of Your countenance

Matt 12:36, Every idle word men may speak, they will give account of it in the day of judgment

YOU KNOW – so do something about what you know!
