The Truck – Israel

God opted to build a tool – a vehicle – to bring to mankind His truth, will, ways and works and to bring to mankind His Savior and King – Jesus.  God manufactured a beautiful, powerful, and impressive truck and called it “Israel”.

God loaded it with His freight and put it on the road to make a series of very important deliveries.

First off was a man named Abraham who would become the patriarch of a singled-out people known as Jews.  Two more patriarchs followed – Isaac and then Jacob who had 12 sons. The truck was then parked in a truck stop called Goshen for 400 years.

Then came a series of significant unloads:  a man named Moses, The Ten Commandments, Ceremonial and Civil Laws, and artisans to build a mobile capitol with a throne called the Ark of the Covenant and an altar for paying dues and restoring well-being (altar).  Also unloaded then were five books that became the first of what is now known as the Bible.

Then came out a conquering hero, Joshua, who was instrumental in leading the conquest of a land inhabited by fierce enemies.

He was followed by a series of judges who served to declare God’s will and deal with enemies.  The last was a judge named Samuel.  During this time, more of the Bible was unloaded.

After the last judge, three kings came off – Saul, David and Solomon.  At this time the city of Salem was unloaded and renamed Jerusalem to become Israel’s capital and also an impressive temple was unloaded.  Also, more of the Bible was unloaded.

After the kings, a number of prophets came out and more of the Bible was unloaded.

Then the truck was parked again – this time in the land, but under the ownership of outsiders.

After 400 years the doors of the trailer opened again and the last prophet came out – a man called John the Baptist and he announced the one thing left on the truck – a King, Jesus!  This Jesus taught them about the Father, the truths of a new covenant talked about in the New Testament, and fulfilled all the requirements of the law.  He offered the people a kingdom under His scepter.  However, the people rejected His offer so the truck (Israel) was parked in the back corner of a storage lot and left to the elements.

Today, the truck remains in a far corner in terrible condition without any purpose and without hope.  It is eaten by rust, inhabited by rats, with flat tires, and with parts missing or laying around its perimeter.  It is a heap of junk fit for destruction.  In fact, a number of the neighbors (Hamas and Hezbollah) desire to do just that: cut it up as scrap metal and never have to look at it again.

BUT!  The Owner has a plan!  In time, He will drag this wreck into His shop to do a frame-off, Class V, restoration that will take 7 years to complete.  For the truck, it will be a time of terrible tribulation.

For about 2.5 years it will be about dismantling and stripping: the mirrors, seat, chrome, fenders, fuel tanks, dash components, and wheels will be removed and the engine taken out and completely tore down.  Then for a couple of months it will be subject to some very harsh handling such as sandblasting followed by power washing and acid cleaning (done so by Gog).

At the midpoint of the project, it will be moved to a less-desirable shop (caves and wilderness) for cutting, welding, grinding, sanding, and pounding as holes and dents will be addressed.  Then it will be moved into a booth for painting followed by reassembly (Megiddo).

After seven years the truck will be brought before the public to the Owner’s great delight (Isaiah 66:8).  It will be beyond impressive and functional – it will be glorious!  The Owner will proudly put it on display using it to bring Him glory – in service for 1,000 years!

What a story of service and failures and being parked – only to be restored to glory and productiveness!
