On PK Musings…

So why PK’s musings and why so many?

The truth is that you are being discipled!  And so are you children!  Constantly – daily – hour by hour!  And to what end?  Under what philosophy?  By what kind of men /characters?  Beware!

I make no apology nor seek to hide the fact that I am about discipling you. Matthew 28:19-20, …make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you;

I have said it and will say it here and in the future – you don’t have to read my musings!  Delete them with NO guilt.  It is no pain to me other than I do seek to influence your thinking upward and outward (too often we get inward focused and either confused or consumed and of little good to God or others – we need to be constantly reminded to think up God and about others).

I know your schedule is tight as there are many things clamoring for your time (thus just one page musings).  Daily you have to decide what gets done and in what order.  Now if you are doing well in the Word – in the Bible – listening or reading good Christian material, and careful with the flow of worldliness, manipulations, and allurements you are letting into your head, then carry on!

If, however, you are not careful, your television/radio/Facebook is speaking into your ear constantly or you solely read novels and fiction as an escape from the crud, you are probably in some trouble.

You have to remember that I have a mandate from Jesus to shepherd His sheep (I Peter 5:1) and that I will answer to Him for how and what I have done (I Corinthians 3:10).  I take that commission seriously.

Jesus attached charges to my pastoral calling.  Here are a few:

I Timothy 4:1, Now the Spirit expressly says that in latter times some will depart from the faith, giving heed to deceiving spirits and doctrines of demons,

and 6, If you instruct the brethren in these things, you will be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished in the words of faith and of the good doctrine which you have carefully followed.

and 10-11, For to this end we both labor and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, especially of those who believe.  These things command and teach.

and 6:20-21, Guard what was committed to your trust, avoiding the profane and idle babblings and contradictions of what is falsely called knowledge—by professing it some have strayed concerning the faith.

Because of the vast host of platforms spewing information your way, you are under attack in many ways that you don’t even realize.  The barrage of watered-down doctrines, polluted doctrines, and bad doctrines is from many quarters.  The problem is that we don’t often realize we are being pulled aside or away.  We don’t realize we are drifting.

Therefore, I muse on things happening and being propagated.  In almost every musing I include Scripture as it is only in God’s Word that we know the truth, the way, the life, and the hope necessary for successful living.

II Corinthians 10:4-5, For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ

Oh, and I do appreciate the feedback I get and do pray that the musings are not an irritation but a source of help and blessing.
