We have heard the word “equity” used much in the past weeks leaving many of us wondering why. I heard “Benny” of NewsmaxTV give these definitions and reasons [NewsmaxTV | The Benny Report | March 6, 2021]:
“Equality is about all having equal opportunity.
Equity is about all having equal outcome.
Equality is about Capitalism and Equity is about Communism.”
So those talking “Equity” are either knowingly or ignorantly advocating Communism!
It has been a mark of the United States that her people had opportunities – opportunities to succeed and fail -paying the consequences and to learn from such in order to give it another try. Thomas Edison is a great example. It is said he made 10,000 attempts at making a light bulb before landing on the one to patent and market. He had opportunity, and with persistence, succeeded! Granted that some have more opportunities than others and some hit it lucky on just one or a few tries, but all have opportunity regardless of education, color, or poverty. Ben Carson is an example!
That is what America has been about, but that is changing! We are now about “no child left behind” (can’t fail), participation ribbons (all are winners) and No poverty (Matthew 26:11, “For you have the poor with you always” – Jesus). And just who is poor? Compared to Bill Gates or the residents of Guachochi, MEX (I’ve been there- a pair of 10×10 rooms is a home)? Are they poor because they don’t have a HS diploma or live in a house they own (Freddie and Fannie) or have a Smartphone with unlimited data and 5G? Are they poor because they don’t have new tennis shoes or AC or a 60” TV? What is poor?
And what is to be done about it? The government since the Great Society was announced under President Johnson in 1964 has spent billions and billions of dollars and found a growing percentage of people to be declared poor. It seems that their plan does not work. Redistribution of wealth has not worked here nor anywhere it has been tried. But even today Congress thinks they have a great plan that by spreading 1.9 trillion dollars around the nation, the poor are going to be better off. Anyone want to venture a guess as to how well this is going to work?
More ideas from “Benny” – “When Steve Spielberg wanted to illustrate the horrors of Nazism in one of the Indiana Jones movies, he showed the Third Reich censoring speech, banning books, and burning books. Spielberg is a Jew who was born the year WWII ended having lost 20 direct family members to the Nazi extermination project. He surely heard about the horrors of the Nazi state over and over as a child and apparently what marked that regime in his mind over a host of possibilities was the suppression of speech for that is what he showed.” It is a mark of totalitarian and evil governments to squash any ideas that might challenge their ways or agenda. Humm?
Karl Marx advocated the complete destruction of history when establishing a communist society. To destroy history is to destroy history books, monuments and statues, songs and poems about historical events or peoples, to remove flags and ban talk of the “old days.” Communism flies in the face of Psalm 78:5-7, For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; that the generation to come might know them, the children who would be born, that they may arise and declare them to their children, that they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God.
God instructs fathers to know and pass on values and truths to the following generations – not to destroy or rewrite history.
