A sign of the times:
I Timothy 3:1-4, But know this, that in the last days perilous times will come: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unloving, unforgiving, slanderers, without self-control, brutal, despisers of good, traitors, headstrong, haughty, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, having a form of godliness but denying its power.
II Timothy 3:13, But evil men and impostors will grow worse and worse, deceiving and being deceived. (evil embraced and lies and more lies uttered – the USA today!)
3:12, Yes, and all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution.
We are the problem:
Psalm 78:5-7, For He established a testimony in Jacob, and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers, that they should make them known to their children; That the generation to come might know them, The children who would be born, That they may arise and declare them to their children, That they may set their hope in God, and not forget the works of God, but keep His commandments.
10-11, They did not keep the covenant of God; they refused to walk in His law, and forgot His works and His wonders that He had shown them.
34-38, When He slew them, then they sought Him; and they returned and sought earnestly for God (9-11 and following days). Then they remembered that God was their rock, and the Most High God their Redeemer. Nevertheless they flattered Him with their mouth, and they lied to Him with their tongue; For their heart was not steadfast with Him, nor were they faithful in His covenant. But He, being full of compassion, forgave their iniquity, and did not destroy them. (we live under amazing mercy)
56-58, Yet they tested and provoked the Most High God, and did not keep His testimonies, but turned back and acted unfaithfully like their fathers; they were turned aside like a deceitful bow. For they provoked Him to anger with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their carved images. (stadiums, houses, cars, trophies, smart phones, etc.)
Remember how great God is:
Amos 5:8, He made the Pleiades and Orion; He turns the shadow of death into morning and makes the day dark as night; He calls for the waters of the sea and pours them out on the face of the earth; The LORD is His name.
The solution:
Amos 5:12, For I know how many are your offenses and how great your sins.
(Repent: II Chronicles 7:14 – if my people will turn from their wicked ways)
II Chronicles 20:20, Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: believe in the LORD your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets (Word), and you shall prosper.”
Amos 5:15, Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the LORD God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph.
II Chronicles 20:12b, For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.
