Let Scripture be your companion and guide – a lamp to your feet:

Matthew 4:1-3 After 40 days in the wilderness with wild beasts and no food, the devil came tempting Him with,  “Turn these rocks into bread.”

And Jesus’ response?   He quoted Scripture!  What Scripture?  Scripture about knowing and following Scripture!  “Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Deuteronomy 6:16).

Man sins and needs cleansed and needs help to not sin.  God has the means:

Psalm 119:9-11

9, How can a young man cleanse his way?
By taking heed according to Your word.

10, With my whole heart I have sought You;
Oh, let me not wander from Your commandments!

11, Your word I have hidden in my heart,
that I might not sin against You!

God has declared truths that can bring a man to maturity:

II Timothy 3:15-17

15, That from childhood you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.

16, All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable…

                        for doctrine, (know facts about God and creation)

                        for reproof, (know sin and judgment)

                        for correction, (accept salvation and change)

                        for instruction in righteousness, (know what to obey)

17, that the man of God may be complete (mature), thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Prosperity and success come from being saturated by God’s Word:

Joshua 1:8, This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it.  For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.

Success in life comes from living God’s Word:

Psalm 1

1  Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the path of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night.

He shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season, whose leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so, but are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

For the Lord knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Be as David:

Psalm 119:24, Your statutes are my delight; they are my counselors.

Psalm 119:47, I delight in your commands because I love them.

Psalm 119:105, Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Be people passionate about knowing the Book so to daily live pleasing to God.
