The Mountain

You’ve heard of Uranium 235?  A quick review:

Uranium-235 (²³⁵U) is an isotope of uranium making up about 0.72% of natural uranium. Unlike the predominant isotope uranium-238, it is fissile, i.e., it can sustain a fission chain reaction. It is the only fissile isotope that is primordial and found in relatively significant quantities in nature.  (Wikipedia)

Uranium-235 is the stuff of nuclear weapons.  When weaponized and detonated it can level vast areas of land and it gives the countries that have it great power.  U-235 is a very powerful element.

Well, how about D-235?  I’m talking about Daniel 2:35 and the “explosion” that will level all kings and kingdoms and bring about a one world power that will rule with a rod of iron and bring about “peace and goodwill.”

That verse:  Daniel 2:35, Then the iron, the clay, the bronze, the silver, and the gold were crushed together, and became like chaff from the summer threshing floors; the wind carried them away so that no trace of them was found. And the stone that struck the image became a great mountain and filled the whole earth.

What is happening in this verse?  The metals and clay of D-235 are world powers which will be crushed by a rock from Heaven which is Jesus.  He will put an end to all nations and take rule of the entire earth setting up a 1,000 year reign of justice, mercy, and humility (Micah 6:8).  The Rock will become a great mountain and bring to pass the prophecies of Isaiah 65 and 66.

So consider the logo of Standing Stone Bible Church:  it has a great mountain with a cross etched on its face sitting on an open Bible.  Doesn’t that great mountain with a cross remind you of D-235?  So the SSB Logo reminds us that the Jesus of the cross is returning to physically take rule of the whole earth and maybe soon!

So, SSB is a D-235 group – people looking for the return of Jesus and anticipating an end to kings and kingdoms, so too enjoying the rule of Jesus that will be marked by goodness and mercy.

Standing Stone Bible Church is anchored to the Cornerstone rejected by men and raised from the dead to stand on earth after death (a standing Stone) and also looks forward to a standing Rock (Stone) that will rule on earth as the only King.
