“Do It Again!” II

(the first was written 09/27/2018)

There is a river whose streams shall make glad the city of God.  Psalm 46:4

Think about this river created by God bubbling, bouncing, dancing, skipping, singing – happy and made by our God for our pleasure and thus His! Isn’t there something soothing and captivating to be by a happy brook? Yes! It does its thing over and over and yet draws us and causes us to pause and ponder.

I think God is excited by some very common things in our world and says to them, “Do it again!” Let me give you a few…

A sunset – how many times during a year do we note the sun dipping in the west behind a cloud, pause and proclaim – WOW!? I think God takes great pleasure in His art work and says to the clouds, sun and earth in rotation (you know what) – Do it again!

How about a water flowing down a mountainside moving around rocks, fallen trees, and steep topography or even cliffs. Oh how it sings, shouts, and roars. All those melted snowflakes join into a stream of water to race, fall, tumble, twist and turn together toward the mighty rivers below. What a show they put on! Yes – Do it again!

How about the birth of a horse? From a single cell through the days of gestation to being expelled into the world of gases, gnats and snakes and within a few minutes those 4 “toothpicks” lift that body into the air. What a spectacle – Do it again!

And lightning dancing, jumping, flashing and exploding behind or from or below a bank of clouds – what a show! (Janet and I observed this recently.) Then to be very near or even in the show – WOW! Do it again!

And a snowflake – the coming together of waters crystals into an amazing tapestry. And some of the little flakes flutter to the ground as the first of a snowfall to fall on a paved roadway where they are windswept to go skipping, jumping, running, hopping, dancing, and racing across and down the road. What a show! Do it again!

Also…

A field turning green to form a canopy and then to tassel and put on ears – Do it again!

Two cells to a zygot to an embryo to a fetus to a birth – WOW! – Do it again!

The sun poking through a cloud streaming rays to the earth – Do it again!

A field of wheat whitened to harvest waving in the breeze – Do it again!

The northern lights, the aurora borealis, shimmering and dancing – Do it again!

Oh, that we might slow down and see God’s handiwork and exclaim as a small child – “Do it again!”

[Not to plague or haunt you – but it is “Review, Review, Review” with JOY!!!!!]
